This Cookie Policy of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Federal Scientific Center “V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops” (FSBSI FSC VNIIMK) (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) defines the conditions and procedure for processing cookie files collected and processed by FSBI FSC VNIIMK (legal address: 17 Filatova street, Krasnodar, Krasnodar Region, 350038, Russia; email: vniimk@vniimk.ru; phone: (861) 255-59-33) (hereinafter referred to as the “Center”) when Users visit or use websites with the domain names “vniimk.ru” or “journal-oil-crops.ru”, or websites owned by the Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”).

By visiting the Website and clicking the “Accept” button (or any other button that confirms acceptance of this Policy), Users consent to the processing of cookies under the terms set forth in this Policy.

For the purposes of this Policy, the following terms are used:

2.1. The Center may use the following types of cookies:

2.1.1. Essential cookies: These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the Website and to provide the services requested by the User. These services may include selecting a country and language, saving login status, ensuring security, preventing fraud, and accessing secure areas of the Website. This category of cookies cannot be disabled.

2.1.2. Analytical (operational) cookies collect information about how Users use the Website (for example, information about the web browser used by the User when using the Website, etc.). These cookies allow us to improve the quality and User experience of the Website, enhance navigation to better meet the needs of Users, address technical errors as they arise, and ensure the security of the Website.

2.2. 3. Purposes of Cookie Processing

3.1. The Center processes cookies for the following purposes when promoting goods, works, and services on the market using the Website:

3.1.1. ensuring the Website’s full and correct functionality and storing user settings;

3.1.2. ensuring the security of the Website;

3.1.3. developing products and services, including development, modernization, and improvement processes;

3.1.4. conducting analytical, statistical, and other types of research, including through the use of large volumes of structured and unstructured data (“big data”).

4. How the Center Processes Cookie

4.1. The Center has the right to process cookies using automated tools and perform the following actions: collection, recording, systematization, accumulation, storage, clarification (updating or changing), extraction, use, transfer (sharing or granting access), depersonalization, blocking, deleting, and destroying.

4.2. The Center will process cookies from the date the User accepts this Policy or starts using the Website and until the stated purposes of processing cookies are achieved, or the User refuses processing, taking into account the cookies’ validity period “lifetime”).

In accordance with clause 2 of Part 1 of Article 6 of Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data”, the processing of essential cookies necessary for the functioning of the Website is carried out automatically from the moment the User starts using the Website and does not require separate consent.

The Center processes analytical cookies only after receiving the User’s explicit and informed consent, which can be expressed:

– by activating the corresponding interface element (checkbox) in the form of consent to the processing of cookies;

– by confirming consent in a pop-up window when visiting the Website for the first time.

5. Who May Receive Cookies and Whom the Center May Engage to Process Them

5.1. The Center informs the User and the User agrees that, to achieve the stated goals, the Center has the right to use third-party Analytical Services (e.g., Yandex.Metrica web analytics services) and transfer cookies to the owners of Analytical Services with whom the Center has relevant contracts and/or agreements, including cross-border transfers if necessary.

5.2. The Center uses a third-party web analytics service, Yandex.Metrica, provided by Yandex LLC (16 L. Tolstoy street, Moscow, 119021, Russia), to process analytical cookies.

The Yandex.Metrica service uses cookies.

5.3. In the course of its activities, the Center has the right to transfer cookies cross-border. When doing so, the Center undertakes to comply with the requirements of Article 12 of Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data”.

6. Cookie Security

6.1. The Center takes all necessary technical and organizational measures to protect User data, including cookies, from unauthorized or accidental access, destruction, alteration, blocking, copying, distribution, and other unlawful actions.

6.2. The Center implements technical security measures taking into account applicable laws, current technology, the nature of the information being processed, and the risks associated with processing it.

7. How to Opt Out of Cookie Processing

7.1. Essential cookies are necessary for the proper functioning and security of the Website. This type of cookie cannot be disabled, but Users can delete them after using the Website. For instructions on managing cookies, please refer to the browser developer’s or device manufacturer’s website.

7.2. Cookies are stored on the User’s device and cannot be deleted by the Center. Users can manage cookies independently by following the applicable instructions for their device and web browser. If the User is on a Website managed by the Center, the User can also avoid placing cookies on the User’s device by setting the web browser appropriately. The storage period for browser cookies is limited. However, similar technological solutions, such as local storage on the User’s device, do not have a built-in system for automatic deletion after a certain period of time. Therefore, the User must delete the files personally.

7.3. Users may refuse to use cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in their browsers.
